Orkney 3rd in Scottish Nationals.

SNOT was held on Saturday 21st July in Portobello Pool in Edinburgh.  6 Players travelled down from Orkney & joined up with Amy and Tracy from Edinburgh (x-Orkney) and Hayley Stuart from Aberdeen Uni.

It was a hard tournament as Orkney's team was relatively young and inexperienced; Edinburgh had 2 Australian Elite players and 2 GB Elite players!  Aberdeen's team was an all-male strong Reef Rats team.  Glasgow-Stirling had many fit young students but Orkney had easy wins over them and ended up in 3rd Place!  Yipee!

The date for the annual Orkney Invitation Tournament has been confirmed as August 27.  It is a 5 aside tournament.

It will be MIXED (you've gotta have ladies in the water) A or B - two
divisions with playoffs between them. This is good for clubs wishing to get
beginners/juniors playing as well as more experienced players, and
definitely for FUN!  We expect some of the bigger clubs to bring an A and a
B team, but most clubs may want to chose which division to go in.

Are you/your club coming up???

Long daylight evenings - good beer - good diving, walks, birdwatching,
prehistoric stuff............ make a holiday of a visit?  Dive Scapa Flow
for a week?

Travel details will be sent to all teams booking.
Haven't got a team but want to come?  Individuals/groups no problem too.

Six Orkney girls and 4 Orkney boys have just returned home from New Zealand.  They all sport World Championship Silver medals, having beat all other teams apart from New Zealand.  It was an amazing experience - and will boost the sport of Octopush in Orkney, since the youngsters gained new skills and can bring the game to a whole new level.
